We offer different types of student rooms (koten in Dutch):

  • Kot: shower, kitchen and toilet are shared with your housemates.
  • Kot+: room with own shower. Kitchen and toilet are shared with housemates.
  • Studio: room with own shower and kitchenette in the same space. Toilet is shared with housemates (unless specified otherwise).

What is typical for a student room from Brik?

  • It’s furnished: there’s a bed with a slatted base, a closet, desk, desk chair, bookshelf and chair or stool.
  • A tenancy agreement for twelve months: from 15 September to 14 September the following year.
  • Centrally located: our rooms are in the centre of Brussels or near the different college or university campuses.
  • The student house feeling: with the social spaces, we bring together students who are living under the same roof.

What does it cost?

  • The monthly rent consists of:
    • a fixed net rental price;
    • a fixed cost for internet;
    • a deposit for the use of utilities;
    • possible taxes.
  • The prices for a student room start from
    • 307.50 euros* for a room,
    • 377.50 euros* for a room+
    • 427.50 euros* for a studio.

      * = without the extra costs mentioned above

  • Utilities are billed based on your actual use.
  • There is a fixed bond of between 500 and 1,000 euro, depending on the type of room.

    We are always able to be contacted about technical emergencies—even after office hours, on the weekend and public holidays.

  • Cleaning service

    As the tenant, you’re responsible for cleaning your room and keeping communal areas neat and tidy. The Brik cleaning team provides a finishing touch twice a month.

  • Maintenance service

    Technical problem? The Brik maintenance team is always ready to help. Email your name, room number and a description of the problem to Brik. We will help you out.

  • House representatives

    Every Brik student house chooses a house representative. This is the direct point of contact between tenants and Brik. They make sure everything runs smoothly in the student house. Together with your fellow students, you choose who is the most suitable person for the job.
